My favorite annual trip is our road trip to Bodega Bay. The Farmhouse bar and restaurant is the fist stop we make to grab one of their famous bloody marys and order a dozen oysters in their famous Sarain’s sauce of Petaluma which you can buy next door at the deli. Then it’s on to the cowgirl creamery to pick up some Humbolt Fog and head out to Hog Island to grab a couple dozen oysters, some wine and a picnic table to shuck them yourself. They say the small oysters are usually the better ones, however on this day, it was the medium size. Yes, the medium size. 24 of them may have been a bit much.
